Click instead of space?

Not sure if this is designed behavior since I've never used a visual search task, but should we have participants click on the letter instead of just press space? I would think pressing space might incentivize people to just click it when they haven't actually found the letter. Again, totally naive to this task so it might be the way it's supposed to be done, but I just wanted to check!
